Frequently Asked Questions

What is Piedmont Smiles?

Piedmont Smiles is a free community dental day event, providing dental services to our community at no cost. Our team’s goal is to provide free dental care to hundreds of adult residents of our region.

Am I registered for the Friday pre-screening?

We will pre-screen some patients Friday in order to be ready to serve as many people as possible on Saturday. Friday screenings will be done for a limited number and is not a guaranteed appointment. You do not have to come on Friday! If you do plan to attend the pre-screening on Friday, please read the steps, HERE.

What should patients expect at the event?

First… On November 2nd, patients will arrive at Fauquier High School, and follow the signs to registration tables. After completing registration, patients move on to a health screening station, where medical professionals will check some basic information, like blood pressure or blood sugar levels.

Then… Patients will head to an X-ray and dental triage station, before moving on to the dental treatment area. Our on-site dental professionals will talk with each patient and provide free care based on their individual needs.

Finally… Patients will receive aftercare instructions and medications (if needed) before they head home.

Where/when will the event take place?

The event will be held on November 2, 2024 at Fauquier High School. Registration will begin the morning of November 2nd, doors will open at 7 am!

What services/treatments will you provide?

We can provide same-day dental services to adult patients. This includes treatment like cleanings, fillings, extractions and health screenings before your dental treatment.

Please note, we are NOT able to provide dentures at this event.

Next steps for the event…

This is a first come first served event. No one has an "appointment." We will be providing as many free care visits as possible, but space will be limited. Plan to arrive early and be prepared to wait. (Bring water and a book!). To receive information leading up to the event, sign up on the mailing list to get text/emails.

**Please note: patients are highly encouraged to bring a list of their current medications. This will help the registration process go smoothly.
